Follow The Stories That Shaped Arabia

The Desert Kingdoms follows the stories that shaped Arabia across landscapes where civilizations rose, caravan routes converged, kingdoms emerged and cultures met. Travelling north from Riyadh through Al Jouf and Hail, history is experienced through the places, people and traditions that still carry it. At Dumat Al-Jandal, guests enter the world of Legends of Marid, where architecture, storytelling, music, performance and a private theatrical dinner bring centuries of history into the present.

In Hail, the journey shifts from civilization into wilderness, skirting the Great Nafud and entering the red and purple granite landscapes of the Aja Mountains. Tribal traditions, Hail hospitality and encounters with storytellers, musicians, poets, historians, archaeologists and cultural voices reveal another layer of Arabia’s story.

More than a journey through heritage sites, it is an immersive passage through the people, landscapes and stories that shaped Arabia.

Legends of Marid Gala Dinner and Signature Show

As daylight fades over Dumat Al-Jandal, Marid Castle becomes the stage for an immersive evening of storytelling, music, light, performance and Saudi cultural expression.
Guests are drawn into a world of ancient kingdoms, royal courts and caravan journeys, guided through the historic setting as the story unfolds around them.
The experience culminates in a candlelit dinner inspired by Al Jouf, where regional flavours, serving traditions and dining rituals become part of the narrative.

Aja Mountains: A Wilderness Escape

Leave the railway behind and journey deep into the dramatic red and purple granite landscapes of the Aja Mountains. Hidden among the peaks, Aja Mountains Camp becomes a private base for exploration, with mountain trails, Arabian horses, wildlife, fire, art, sound and storytelling unfolding across the landscape.
The traditions of Hail come to life through local hosts, riders, poetry, drumming, food and gatherings around the fire, creating an immersive encounter with the culture and spirit of the mountains.
